Doha, Qatar – Nepali chemistry teacher at prestigous school ,victim of racist verbal abuse, is facing 7 years jail time for allegedly insulting Islam.

Dorje Gurung , a Nepali chemistry teacher at a prestigous Doha school was the victim of verbal abuse by some students due to his nationality.

On April 22nd, Gurung sat down with 3 twelve yearl olds to discuss the abuse they heaped on him, abuse which included calling him “Jackie Chan”, owing to his phenotype. April 23rd; while Gurung was waiting in line for lunch he was subjected to mocking , but this time 1 of the youth put his hand on Gurung’s shoulder and 1 finger up his (Gurung’s) nose. Gurung is alleged to have told the youth how they would feel if they were stereotyped as terrorists.

Later that week Gurung was jailed, charged with insulting Islam. He faces 7 years imprisonment if convicted.

Waay back when I used to live in the Emirates, I recal the case of a very pregnant Indian Hindu teacher being jailed because 1 of her students (a Muslim SubCon) had accused her of stepping on a Quran. The Italian Bishop from the Catholic church I attended intervened on her behalf and managed to secure her release. The student later confessed to making it all up.

The 3 accused planned to set off 8 bombs, drive into civilians in vehicles afixed with blades and use poisons.

Atleast 2 of the 3 travelled to Pakistan for training.

The BBC mentions the area in Birmingham the 3 came from has strong Deobandi influence . Kashmiri activism is another ” strand ” ,  owing to people from that region settling in Birmingham.

The BBC report appears to pin part of the motivation for engaging in such behaviour as authorities not listening and the state not engaging the youth in areas like the one the 3 accused came from.

Jahan Mahmood, who runs educational programmes for young Muslims aimed at tackling radicalisation and gang culture, knew one of the plotters, Irfan Kahlid.

He said the government and police have “failed at engaging with the Muslim community in Birmingham”.

“They have no experience of talking to Muslims at their level. The feeling in these communities is that they’re not being listened to by the authorities,” he said.

Theres plenty of council estates in Britain with similar socio-economic issues, how many of them are planning similar attacks.

I know guru just means teacher, but this whole adulation , reverential treatment and the just the whole bloody concept of GodMen/Gurus is a big part of the reason the SubCon is FUBARED.

I am not saying that just based on this one comment or the fact that this Guru is quite rich, but from observation of other Gurus like Sai Baba , Sri Ravi Shankar, Swami Nithayanda, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi , the one in Oregon whatshisname who fled to India,  and many others, all charlatans and scoundrels of the highest order.

I wouldn’t trust even a poor Guru because some just want to make a name for themselves/leave a legacy or have other malicious reasons.

Some relatives and family friends are enchanted with Gurus ,so I see first hand the high esteem these frauds are held in.

Here in SL, some Hindu shops will proudly display pics of the big name Gurus. I have not been to the Southern Bible belt but in my life and travels around the upper MidWest I have yet to see American shops display pics of Robertson, Falwell ,Graham etc..despite the influence of Evangelical Christianity and the influence of the big name Televangelists. There is something in the Indian pschye that makes them worship every God Dam statue &  ’spiritual’ figure that crosses their path, even freaking actors/actresses. I suppose a lot of it is the result of the brutal SubCon life and the need for hope and repreive from it but there are  even midde class people sucked in.

Relative coming over in a couple of days, want to have him bring two 23andMe kits.

So upon seeing the post on Kerala and BJP, I recalled this BBC article from just over a year ago on Kerala Churches encouraging their flock to make more babies because their TFR is dwindling, while Muslim TFR increased in the same period.

Both the Christian and Hindu TFR decreased from 1991-2001 but the Muslim TFR increased. All 3 communities have impoverished people amongst them so it can’t be explained away as relatively wealthy and educated Christian & Hindu populations versus impoverished Muslim population.

“The state’s Hindu and Christian populations declined by 1.48 and 0.32 percentage points respectively, while Muslim numbers increased by 1.7 percentage points between 1991 and 2001″

Also regarding State imposed 2 child limit;

This young London chap mimics various British accents and some foreign ones. He is pretty good but as he himself admits, he didn’t nail some.

Pay note to the Welsh accent, part of it sounds like an Indian accent and the chap himself must think so as evidenced by his comment ” Indians in Cardiff — I don’t think so “.  The Welsh accent starts at the 2:28 mark.

At Language Log, the poster Togi suggests that trying to mimic a Welsh accent often ends up sounding like an Indian.  I have been to South Wales  a couple of times but that was 2 decades ago. While I wouldn’t recognize a Welsh accent today, I don’t think it (Welsh accent) sounds Indian because I certainly would remember if it did.

The part that gives off an Indian vibe (to me) is the ” you bloody bastard”. If he had just said ” bloody ” without the ” bastard ” or ” bastard ” without the ” bloody “  it wouldn’t sound Indian but use the 2 words together and it evokes a peculiarly Indian/SubCon vibe . I say this because I noticed some older SubCons like to say “bloody bastard” when needing to express strong displeasure of someone.
