Observations: Do not confuse morality with political ability. Ironically Trump despite his immense moral shortcomings appealed to those Americans who feel that the social contract under the founding fathers including conservative values were under threat!
Secondly, resounding defeat of the deep state!
Finally, Trump showed political astuteness to even actively seek overseas American votes, for whom the only thing that matters is the unfair taxation of Americans abroad. Note that most American expats are Dem leaning. So clearly Dems have been tone deaf across myriad issues for those in the mainland as well as those abroad.
Agree fully with the points that Omar Ali made.
Lastly, and this is going to stir a hornets nest. There is something like too much immigration, even legal. University departments learning styles have been completely subsumed by the Asian style. That in my opinion is extremely unhealthy as it favours grunt work over creative, out of the box thinking that was responsible for iconic American companies like Boeing, GE, Dupont…This combined with MBA’s running a business rather than the engineers has resulted in all these companies complete fall from grace, which is extremely sad.
