I get a little tired of Aryan, Sudra, Islam. Pakistan, Hindu diatribes.
So a James Brown video
a) Look to the end, its FBI etc keeping a eye on James Brown
b) The tall guy behind JB playing bass in a sort of dark shirt with small cross is Bootsy Collins.
Bootsy became one of the first to be Gay friendly on stage, this is probably early 1980’s

Don’t you know that it’s true
That for me and for you
The world is a ghetto
Wonder when I’ll find paradise
Somewhere there’s a home, sweet and nice
Wonder if I’ll find happiness
Never give it up now I guess

I am 3/4ths Sri Lankan (Jaffna) Tamil, 1/8th Sinhalese and 1/8th Irish; a proper mutt.
Maternal: Grandfather a Govt Surveyor married my grandmother of Sinhalese/Irish descent from the deep south, in the early 1900’s. They lived in the deep South, are generally considered Sinhalese and look Eurasian (common among upper class Sinhalese). They were Anglicans (Church of England), became Evangelical Christians (AOG) in 1940's, and built the first Evangelical church in the South.
Paternal: Sri Lanka (Jaffna Tamil). Paternal ancestors converted to Catholicism during Portuguese rule (1500's), went back to being Hindu and then became Methodists (and Anglicans) around 1850 (ggfather). They were Administrators and translators to the British, poets and writers in Tamil and English. Grandfathers sister was the first female Tamil novelist of modern times
I was brought up as an Evangelical even attending Bible study till about the age of 13. Agnostic and later atheist.
I studied in Sinhala, did a Bachelor in Chemistry and Physics in Sri Lanka. Then did Oceanography graduate stuff and research in the US.
I am about 60 years old, no kids, widower. Sri Lankan citizen (no dual) and been back in SL since 2012. Live in small village near a National Park, run a very small budget guest house and try to do some agriculture that can survive the Elephants, monkeys and wild boar incursions.
I am not really anonymous, a little digging and you can find my identity.

Tight. I’ve read that JB used to fine his musicians every time they messed up for any little thing. During shows, what the audience thought were hand signals to the band were actually dollar amounts indicating the fine. Legend.
don’t know either – quite the Philistine when it comes to certain things (Bourgeouise life has a cost)
Xi Xerxie, your expression just remind me…
Do you know who were Philistines?? They were Serbs (Pelasgians) who lived and ruled in today’s Israel/Palestine before Palestinians and Jews. Wiki says that they came from Aegean. They lived in today’s Greece much before future Greeks came there. Greeks took from them their language (including the word for ‘sea’ which they, as continentals, didn’t have) and their original Hurrian (which was non-Indo-European) language – voila – became Indo-European. Serbs also gave them their current name – Greeks.
Interesting, isn’t it?
I feel good!
Xerxie, I will research the origin of this expression but only couple things…
GOLIATH was a Serb Philistine (bloody Dave).
DELILAH was a Serb Philistine, too (took Samson for a haircut and Tom Jones for a sex in green grass of his home… …btw, Tom is Welshman, i.e. Celt, i.e. a descendant of one of ancient Serbian tribes, i.e. he is a far cousin with Delilah!!!… Wow!!!!…)
Palestinians got their name from the name of Philistines…
Expect some more…including about your DD (Daddy Darius)…
Xerxie, who stopped my follow up comment, you or Sereno?
XERXIE: / “Your Pedo prophet smashed 365 idols as soon as captured Mecca (after lying to everyone in medina).”/
Xerxie, just a brief follow-up on your recent statement. It builds on my previous writing about Philistines (Pelasgian Serbs).
Well, about those idols wrote historians Herodotus and Strabo. It was a Serbian Pantheon of gods, every day in a year had one god. Anyone who red about ancient Serbian city of Palmyra (ISIS tried to destroy) knew about that. Btw. for dummies – every ancient toponym which includes MIR was Serbian. It is a modern word meaning ‘Peace’ (its archaic meaning ‘world’ is still used in Russian language). I wrote before that many personal names include this word (e.g. Desimir, etc). One of idols was dedicated to Dionisius. Readers can read wiki for the ‘Temple of Bel’ at Palmira. Bel, i.e. Dionisius i.e. Nimrod (from the Bible) was the first Aryan leader and founder of Babylon.
Dionisius means ‘god from Nis’ (the 2nd largest city in Serbia) were Aryans started their expedition about 2025BC. Interestingly, there was a civil war in today’s Serbia. Roman Emperor Constantine won against his co-Emperor Licinius, executed him and became a sole Roman Emperor. Both were Serbs. Licinius co-authored Edict of Milan and Constantine later announced Christianity as official Roman religion. It seems that Licinus changed his mind about legalising Christianity, it was mentioned the worshipping of Dagon (the fish-god).
Well, Dagon was worshipped by Philistines. In the Hebrew Bible, Dagon is the god of the Philistines with temples at Beth-dagon.
We made a full circle coming back to your expression about Philistines.
How small world, you would say. You are right.
And its history need to be rewritten again – you are right again, Xerxie.
Stay cool and feel good!
PS: Constantine proclaimed Christianity official Roman Empire religion also in Nis (this is also old name of Tehran) and there are several Nis-es in SA. MIR is also the meaning of Sereno’s name. He is maybe a Serb, too?? ANd he is from Serendib (=serpska dvipa i.e. serbian island). The world is really small.
Nice chatting with you about Philistines, Xerxie!
Yes, JB was a taskmaster, and was called the hardest working man in show biz.
He earned the nickname “The Hardest Working Man in Show Business” and often tried to prove it to his fans, said Jay Ross, his lawyer of 15 years. Brown would routinely lose two or three pounds each time he performed and kept his furious concert schedule in his later years even as he fought prostate cancer, Ross said.
JB was also an obsessive perfectionist, which made his sidemen miserable, but which made them sound as tight as a drum. Listening to his band now, I shudder to imagine the level of fascism it took to keep them that razor sharp and disciplined. No wonder that after recording the best funk music in history in 1968-70, the entire band quit en masse.
Xerxie, who stopped my follow up comment, you or Sereno?
Didnt realize some comments had to be approved.
Also dont check that often.
