Please put all the latest news here. We would like to preface that we mourn ALL lives lost in this unnecessary conflict whether they are civilian (Iranian school girls, Israeli families, Iranian hospital patients) or military (American soldiers, Iranian sailors).
War has no victors.
Interesting screenshots after the jump.

this is america’s war to establish control over middle east and displace china from this region. israel is just a mid wife.
The numbers for US to capitulate are getting there.
DJI 47,048 (-6% loss from a month ago)
Brent Crude 91
Marban Crude 100.60
US 10 year Treasury yields 4.1% Needs to get closer to 5%
Note: The US is self sufficient in oil. BUT the US is a free trade, capitalist economy. So US oil producers price oil at World prices. To bad for US consumers, they get to pay high prices even though US produces enough oil for it self.
The energy squeeze is going to hurt the CCP a lot more than it will the US. Short-term economic volatility can be easily managed by the US. This is just more boomer wishful doomer thinking on the US. I recognize the affliction.
But China is receiving oil supplies?
for now. But its longterm discounted oil supply contract with Iran worth hundreds of billions is no longer secure.
a) China is getting oil from Russia
b) China has huge oil stockpiles
c) Iran is allowing Chinese tankers to go thru Hormuz
Short-term economic volatility can be easily managed by the US.
Trump recently capitulated when Treasury Bond Yields spiked. Can recall what was the issue.
Yes the myth of American infallibility.
At least Iraq was a “tactical victory” even if a strategic disaster. There can be no ground invasion.
Presumably Iran can get supplied by land but furthermore it hasn’t closed Sino-Russian shipping.
Iran seems fully stocked?!?

US 10 year Treasury yields 4.1% Needs to get closer to 5%
I think the likes of RecoveringNewsJunkie do not not understand the implication of rising US Treasury Yields.
Yield is Implied Interest Rate, (i.e. Coupon Rate/Bond Price)
As yield increases investors of,US debt will want higher interest rates.(US is paying about a Trillion a year in Debt Interest)
example of first order effects: Home Loans.
Home Loan rates go up. A bank would find it more profitable to buy US Treasury bonds and get that Interest. So Home Loan rates have to be at higher interest to be profitable.
So as one can see High Treasury Bond Yields makes everything more expensive in the US Economy
What were 10yr yields prior to the war.
Spiked to 4.6% on May21 2025
Was a low of 1,2% in around July 2021.

In other “unrelated” coincidences, the PLA has suddenly paused some its grey zone ‘invasive’ flights into Taiwanese airspace – activity it has been carrying out for the last few years.
This feels….ominous. My mind instantly recalls that the CCP, after years of prep during the 1950s, chose the cuban missile crisis to launch its attack on India to seize Aksai Chin in 1962. The fate of Tibet was sealed as a result, and also East Turkestan.

Russia Giving Iran Targeting Intelligence Of American Warships, Aircraft: US Officials
Allegations just after Iran destroyed advanced US radar system located inside Jordanian territory…
“Russia is providing Iran with targeting information to attack American forces in the Middle East, the first indication that another major US adversary is participating – even indirectly – in the war, according to three officials familiar with the intelligence.”

Yes the “Quad” is Sino-Russia, N. KorIran.
If Iran, who is the weakest, can inflict such damage one can only imagine what the “Hermit Kingdom” can do. Most likely pull the Korean Peninsula & Japan with it.
This was very very foolish by Trump. He & Bibi seemed to have stumbled into an indestructible fortress.
The Straits are completely controlled; Sino-Russia are going to keep Iran afloat. No one knows Iran’s
Stockpiles and its distributed infrastructure .
Also the real leadership kill seems to be Khaemeini, who was martyred.
Where are the wins of this op?!?
On the flip side, injecting volatility into energy supplies for the CCP, over the medium term at a minimum, will have some non-trivial second order effects.
I think its quite premature to declare Iran’s victory just yet.
I think its quite premature to declare Iran’s victory just yet.
Not Victory, Pyrrhic
Iran will still be standing but key places might be destroyed.
Despite what Trump says, cannot destroy all of Iran, too big
energy supplies for the CCP, over the medium term at a minimum, will have some non-trivial second order effects.
Everyone in the world is going to have first order and second order effects.
The CCP least of all because they think ahead and have been prepared.
If this takes months, then the whole world down the drain.
I will be OK because for the most part I am off the grid. My biggest issue is no LPG and so use open fireplace. That means having to was soot etc from pots and pans

Finally, to the other Trump “hail Mary” scheme, of having the US provide war risk insurance to carriers. This from the absolutely must read The Invisible Siege: How Insurance Markets, Not Missiles, Closed the Strait of Hormuz by Shanaka Anselm Perera. It explains why shipping (not just tankers but any carrier) will not pass through the Strait of Hormuz without war risk coverage, includes an impressive, in-depth discussion of the structure of the market, and how already unduly thin reserves for war risk were depleted thanks to the Houthi attacks. The buffers are now so thin that the loss of one tanker would wipe out what little remains.

It seems some sort of backdoor deal is being made frantically so that no one loses face to their domestic audience. It feels very choreographed
I doubt Iran will do backdoor deals.
To clarify I dont think Iran will do backdoor deals with US and Israel. They want them humiliated..
With other Gulf States, quite likely already back door deals. Thats why Gulf is not attacking Iran
Iran is always quick to do a deal- the problem is that the US-Israel duo are not reliable partners. They just randomly bomb.
Any country acquiring nukes is a red line for the entire world but apart from that, what reason is there really to intervene militarily.
What this is showing is how weak the American security guarantee is though; imagine if the Koreas hash it out, it’s not on exagerration to say that North would trounce South.
“Pakistan signals support to Saudi Arabia while treading carefully with Iran amid Gulf escalation”
https://www.dawn.com/news/1979437/pakistan-signals-support-to-saudi-arabia-while-treading-carefully-with-iran-amid-gulf-escalation
Pakistan has played this; Pakistan, to be fair, does very well as a hybrid regime.
I also think the Pakistani people are broadly in favour of hybrid regime, they like\love Imran Khan but don’t have deep revolutionary tendencies.
What the Iran conflict has shown is that the Ummah has “wised” up to internal fractures (finally). I suspect Social Media is consolidating Meta-identities, which globalisation was doing anyway.
People are willing to Westernise and modernise subliminally but when existentially threatened, revert to their civilisational loyalties. The Gulflets have been VERY calm with Iran; even their populations are not baying for blood. Imagine if Israel did what Iran did, the whole Ummah would be up in arms.
Not all the Pakistani people love Imran Khan. There is an Imran Khan cult. There are also many people who understand that he is a right-wing populist.
People’s first loyalty in Pakistan is to the Pakistan Army. Even the Imran Khan people only turned anti-Army when their man was removed from office. Otherwise–especially in Punjab province– Army is everyone’s first love.
I think the Gulf countries have been calm with Iran because they fundamentally understand that this was not a war Iran chose.
Iran’s argument is that it is attacking US bases and those bases just happen to be located in the Gulf countries.

GPS jamming is emerging as an increasingly prevalent — and troubling — weapon of war
The location confusion was a result of widespread jamming and spoofing of signals from global positioning satellite systems. Used by all sides in conflict zones to disrupt the paths of drones and missiles, the process involves militaries and affiliated groups intentionally broadcasting high-intensity radio signals in the same frequency bands used by navigation tools. Jamming results in the disruption of a vehicle’s satellite-based positioning while spoofing leads to navigation systems reporting a false location.

So we take the high road?
With all due respect; so we mourn for people who hate us, especially because our skin is darker? And because India has serious issues around defecation & poverty.
I don’t particularly like being called a poopskin by Iranians. And the others who call me a Pajeet & ask if Indians finally have toilets.
They are also of the opinion that we are obsessed with them which seems to be true for so many Indians!
Do they mourn when a Sri Lankan maid gets nails driven into her by ME employer?
this is an interesting take. however the people of Iran do not deserve this.
Though I have had many friends from many nations, not had Iranian friends. So not known them personally.
To me it appears Iranians are the underdog. Also the West refers to Iranians as sponsors of terror, which is false propaganda.
I am Sri Lankan and Iran has been a good friend to us since independence. Funded and sponsored many projects. A heavy crude cracking plant, which in a few years our politicians sold to India . A huge dam and irrigation project (Uma Oya). Luckily politicians cannot cant sell it.
So I stand by Iranians at least in words/
Iran has the Shia-Muslim-GS nexus behind it.
No neighbour of Iran has warred with it; it’s defeaning!
Do they mourn when a Sri Lankan maid gets nails driven into her by ME employer?
I think you are equating Gulf Countries with Iran. Gulf are Arabs and Iranians are Aryans
I dont think Sri Lankan Maids get employed in Iran.
Gulf an Israel for sure.
Saudi the worst. They chopped of 17 year old Rizana Nafeek’s head.

Our correspondent says that if the documents are genuine, she was a minor when the alleged offence was committed. It also appears that employment agents falsified her age in order for her to get work in Saudi Arabia.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-20959228
yes Gulfies are very different but I think as their societies open up, they will probably be better
Sincere apologies for the way I worded it, but I’m not that ignorant. I should have stated Arab employer instead of ME employer. I do know that they are two different ethnicities etc, and that South Asians are not employed in Iran as maids & construction workers etc.
But overall, Iranians & Arabs will respect & like each other over a South Asian, especially dark skinned ones, any day of the week. Political agendas & Trade deals aside, especially as Iran works around its sanctions; most Iranians think dark skin is ugly. Period. I also do understand most people around the world are attracted to their own phenotype, which is why I will stick to my own kind however much I can.
I’ve read more than enough comments & watched enough videos on social media to know that we are hated. Which is fine with me, because I don’t care to be welcomed by them anyways. Once again, we are perceived as being obsessed with Iranians & Arabs.
I don’t condone war, but I don’t care to show them outwardly affection.
PS: It’s very hard for me to convey my thoughts on such a platform, which is why, despite reading this blog and Sepia Mutiny from the very beginning, I generally don’t comment.
Ur comments are fantastic ..
