Razib Khan is a Bangladeshi-American geneticist and writer. He is co-founder of Brown Pundits and runs Unsupervised Learning, a Substack on population genetics, evolution, history, and politics with more than 55,000 subscribers, alongside the accompanying podcast. He has blogged at Gene Expression since the early 2000s. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, National Review, Slate, India Today, Quillette, and UnHerd. He is Director of Operations at FUTO in Austin, Texas, and co-founder of GenRAIT, a life-sciences platform company. Earlier in his career he developed ancestry algorithms for Gene by Gene, the Genographic Project, and Insitome, and was among the first employees at Embark Veterinary. Born in Dhaka and raised in upstate New York and eastern Oregon, he holds degrees in biochemistry (2000) and biology (2006) from the University of Oregon, and undertook doctoral work in genomics and genetics at UC Davis. He lives in Austin.

Oh ok. Hope you get the free time and enough mental energy to remove the paywall soon. Have read 8 books so far this year (big jump for me) and half of those were recommended by your substack. Will be nice to read more short form (compared to books) content too

not a single hindu candidate won on congress ticket in j and k . at least national conference had 2 hindu winners from jammu region.

The Sri Lankan mesolithic samples’ nuclear dna is supposed to be released by the end of this year. Let’s see what happens.

That Sri Lankan sample….it was announced 2 years ago and it was supposed to come out last year summer or something. Guessing shit happened

If the reddit who reported on it is to be trusted, he said that they told him that they had problem processing the samples and that the expected date for completion has been pushed to before the end of 2024. That update was in late 2023.

very likely that the ganging up of ‘5 eyes’ against india will push it into chinese lap after russia gives some sort of assurance of holding back china. if only china was a bit foresighted….
