Some links I found interesting:
1) Why Indians have stopped reading|Scroll Adda
(Note: This is obviously not peculiar to India. Reading for pleasure–especially of Literature– is down all over the world)
2) Motorsports: Learning To DriftÂ
This is about Dina Rohinton Patel, a 22 year old from Karachi who has been crowned Pakistan’s first female drifter.
I personally don’t know anything about motorsports but this is a human interest story about a young Pakistani woman–especially one from a non-Muslim minority. Contrary to what many on BP seem to think, not everything is doom and gloom in Pakistan.
3) Legendary Indian Singer Asha Bhosle Passes AwayÂ
A great loss to the music industry. I will always remember her rendition of “In Aankhon Ki Masti” from Umrao Jaan.

Yeah, i must have given around 10+as farewell, long achievement, secret santa gifts in my corporate life. I dont think anyone has read those books yet.
People hardly even read long form essays these days or listen do long YT videos _ leave alone read.
People still have appetite for long movies though (Dhurandhar is very very long) .
Regional literature has really struggled since 2000s . English medium education means now the GenZ can’t read their own language in their script.
Javed Akhtar who can read write Urdu Hindi English ( even a bit of Marathi) whereas indian dont think his kids or grandkids can even read Either Hindi or Urdu.
Most Bollywood script are written of transcribed in Roman for new age actors.
Not that anyone is reading English but atleast English is reachable whereas regional language are mostly out of reach.
Really depressing stuff
