Salman Rushdie is one of the worldās most prominent English language writers and certainly among the most famous writers of Indian origin. His second novel, Midnightās Children won the 1981 Booker Prize as well as the āBest of the Bookersā. Other well-known novels include Shameāone of the great novels about Pakistanā and The Satanic Verses.
