This opinion piece on the Print’s website lays out a familiar argument about shifting academic focus towards Indic heritage against excessive hagiographic obeisance at the altars of ‘western’ scholarship. But apart from the standard diatribes, the name Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan jumped out for me.
Where are the Radhakrishnans of our time?

This is an idea which went mainstream a while ago in Indian discourse. It’s a fast expanding space. Read Sanjeev Sanyal, or J Sai Deepak. And that’s the point, those are but a handful of names. A nation of 1.4 billion, should be producing a lot more.

Jokes apart. We needed a generation of people to grow and mature out of the shadow of marxist-colonial thinking. It has only happened now. If I look back at what I learnt in history class, I am appalled at how horribly biased it all is.
So much atrocity was swept under the carpet.
Not just India, did you learn about the smallpox devastation of the New World in school?
