Browncast Episode 82: Francois Gautier; pro-Hindu French Journalist

Another BP Podcast is up. You can listen on LibsynAppleSpotify,  and Stitcher (and a variety of other platforms). Probably the easiest way to keep up the podcast since we don’t have a regular schedule is to subscribe to one of the links above! d

You can also support the podcast as a patron. The primary benefit now is that you get the podcasts considerably earlier than everyone else. This website isn’t about shaking the cup, but I have noticed that the number of patrons plateaued a long time ago.

I would though appreciate more positive reviews! Alton Brown’s “Browncast” has 30 reviews on Stitcher alone! Help make us the biggest browncast! At least at some point.

On this episode, Mukunda and I (Omar) talk to Francois Gautier, a French journalist who is a long time supporter of “the Hindu cause” (or as opponents might prefer, “the extremist Hindu cause”).  We asked him how he came to be this way and what he believes and does not believe .. Few of my impressions of the podcast?
Never heard of this guy(cause I am not on social media).
I don’t know what he was trying to say half the time and also he didn’t answer the questions directly and always presenting historical biases of western journalist (which is present no doubt).
The Kashmir point was alright(lots of Kashmiri sellers in Delhi , Himachal , U.P) but it would be difficult to find a “Paanwalla” in the Valley.
“Take the capital away from Delhi” , he said which i can’t say much about but Delhi is a hot mess in my opinion I visit Delhi every now and then ( mostly South but sometimes old Delhi ) the amount of people living in such a small space is not good( Also coronavirus isn’t helping the case either).
“Hindus are the biggest cheaters”, he said but I would probably replace “Hindus” with “Indians”.
“It’s (cheating ) in the Genes of Indians” funniest thing I have heard on this podcast.
Probably should have said “shitting on streets, fields is also in genes of Indians”
Just joking.
Do ahmadi muslims live Saudi Arabia?

Hindus are not that pacifist. If it were the case there would be no army , no martial artist, wreslers , boxers etc.
The warrior caste, varna (whatever you wanna call it) exists(as did in every major civilisation) to protect people from outside forces and defend their land, culture , wealth etc from marauders.
The media potrayal of South Asia as a whole in western world (in Europe) is probably biased.
Obviously every person have the lens of his culture and perceive other culture from their lens.
He was rushing and at the end i didn’t think he want to be on the podcast.
The last point most of the Media is pro India and pro Modi (Except NDTV).
The Muslim anger is not because of Monotheism Vs Polytheism. It’s because of youth of india thinks like he is the boss of the streets and the law on order is so weak that the people having enough back(i.e friends) will beat up another gang and police don’t have enough training nor they have equipment to deal with these issues.
Weird Podcast I have to say.

“Hindus are not that pacifist. ”

I think he was referring to the fact the ideology itself doesn’t lend itself on the martial side. I mean there were and are Buddhist fighters.

On the whole warrior caste thing, vast swathes of India did not have warrior castes and mostly the agriculturist morphed into the warrior caste of that region. The dearth of warrior caste was so high that once in a while even other UCs and OBCs got a chance to become king.

This was absolute rubbish talk in my personal opinion. He did not answered anything & kept contesting the questions. Worst talk on BP.

The weapons which are used in depictions of Hindu gods are apparently used for farming.

Hindu nationalists need the endorsement of white foreigners like Elst and Gauthier for people to take their nonsense seriously.
